Hello! I'm John Simpson
I am a passionate web developer, looking to create dynamic and responsive websites. My journey into web development began as I discovered that much of my professional experience related directly to the understanding of technology and coding utilized in web development. I found myself, unexpectedly, looking at a career change, started studying, and have been hooked ever since. I have focused on specializing in frontend development with a strong foundation in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I'm proficient in modern frameworks like React. I am continuing my studies so to press forward to full-stack engineering competency.
My approach to development focuses on creating clean, efficient, and maintainable code that delivers exceptional user experiences. I'm constantly learning and adapting to new technologies to stay at the forefront of web development.
How I got here...
As a student, I excelled at creative and technical fields of study, from a young age. My creativity ended up getting the vote of "Most Artistic" in high school, were I had taken just about every art and industrial arts class that was offered. Those classes included AutoCAD, which allowed me to develop my passion for designing creative solutions that solved various needs for others. These skills allowed me to excel in the job market, directly after graduation. Starting out as a CAD technician, contracted into of Caterpillar's enclosed generator division, I worked along side a senior mechanical design engineer. During this time, my engineer would task me with assisting him with design elements that were tasked to our department. During this time, I designed multiple parts that ended up in production. As life changed, I became a telecommunications technician, consulting, designing, installing, and training users on how to utilize, various equipment to boost productivity and communications. Through the years in the telecommunications industry, I worked with countless customers, exposing me to a vast amount of businesses and was able to see how they work. This exposure taught me how to ask the questions to find out what the customers want, so that I could design around their needs and desires.
Along my career, I have lead many teams and trained many junior staff. These leadership skills have made me a confident communicator. Communications with team members and customers is the most crucial aspect of accomplishing tasks in a successful manner.
